Account Assistant, Insurance – November 2024
Full time, Salary Range $50 – 60k
The Account Assistant position provides administrative support to our production and service teams to allow a seamless execution of our service strategy.
We are looking for a special, passionate administrative professional who can effectively manage their workflow around competing priorities without sacrificing service quality, and deliver consistent, high end results on schedule. The successful candidate will be detail driven, highly organized, and will be passionate about providing exceptional client service at all levels.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Certificate holder list to Account Executive, or if requested, directly to client to ensure it is updated prior to renewal
- Communicate with clients and issue client certificates of insurance and pink cards within 48 hours of renewal, or same day for mid-term requests
- Manage incoming and outgoing communication related to the book of business
- Ensure EPIC workflows are followed including complete and accurate data
- Process new business, renewals and endorsements within Epic, including accurate invoicing of premiums and taxes
- Execute on premium finance contracts and premium allocations
- Provide copies of invoices to the Account Executive or if directed, follow up directly with the client for outstanding account receivables after 30 days
- Maintain claims information in EPIC which includes; input, update and follow-up with client team
- Assist in preparing renewal documentation, such as requests for renewal information, submissions, proposals, binders, policy summaries, stewardship reports, statement of values, fleet schedules, etc.
- Draft policy and endorsement transmittals to clients
- Investigate accounting discrepancies with insurers and correct billings in Epic if necessary
- Draft annual service agreements for review and execution by the Senior Associate or Associate
- Request policy amendments from insurers including abeyances to follow up
- Follow up on outstanding documents from the Insured or Insurer
- Manage abeyances and follow up on outstanding items with internal team or with client/insurers
- Learn new systems and processes and actively implement with the teams to ensure consistent and effective delivery of services
- Participate in broking and service support team meetings as required
- Participate in industry and association events, including insurer visits and presentations
- Ensure account documentation and correspondence is saved in central digital filing system
- Other duties as assigned
Core Competencies:
- Level 1 license is desirable.
- A Property & Casualty insurance license is not required as we you will be enrolled in our Learning & Development program.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage future tasks through project management
- In-person and online communication skills in a hybrid working model
- Attention to detail and propensity for accuracy with your work
- Financial acumen would be beneficial but not required for this role.
- Strong typing skills as well as technology knowledge and adept at learning new systems is an asset.
